CZR prepared four parts of an integrated natural resources management plan (general, land management and ground maintenance, forest management, and fish and wildlife management) for the entire Military Ocean Terminal, Sunny Point (MOTSU) facility, covering parts of an integrated natural resources management plan 11,500 acres in Brunswick and New Hanover Counties, North Carolina. CZR performed a red-cockaded woodpecker nest cavity survey and population analysis, including permanent marking of individual trees and marking of colony boundaries. The updated identifications will allow specific and intensive habitat management of discrete areas, without affecting timber production or operations in adjacent areas. The project demonstrates CZR’s ability to develop Integrated Natural Resource Management Plans.
